Der UnterDerWocheCocktail die 31. –The DuringTheWeekCocktail No. 31

Man nehme
4cl Tequila
2cl Orangenlikör (z.B. Cointreau)
2cl Limettensaft
Salz
Limettenspalte (optional)

Man gebe
Fertig.

You may have guessed that I like cocktails… But still there are a lot of the classic ones I haven’t tried. One is the Margarita. For one thing because I normally don’t have Tequila in my house bar. For another thing I’m lazy and avoid drinks that have to be shaken… In Addition I never got into Margaritas. My associations with it are groups of women going crazy while eating at the Mexican restaurant – ordering one Margarita after the other. I like Tequila the classic way.
But nothing ventured, nothing gained…

Take
4cl Tequila
2cl orange liqueur (e.g. Cointreau)
2cl lime juice
salt, ice cubes
Lime (optional)

Make
The salt rimed Glass (salt on a dish, wet the rim and dip it upside down into the salt. Gently knock off the loose salt). Please don’t forget: the rest of the salt is perfectly fine to use it regularly – don’t throw it away. Put Ice and liquid ingredients into the shaker and go for it. Strain into the glass. There you are.

As I’m no fan of special decoration on the glas rim, my salt line is messy – I don’t care…

After tasting my Margarita, I will probably not become a fan of it. I think it a boring drink. This astonished me because due to the ingredients there is a similarity to the White Lady. But still - the Margarita seems to me like the group of women I mentioned above – going crazy in the mexican restaurant. Anxious to be wild and special (salt and lime) and yet boring, dull and better on it’s own (just Tequila, Salt and lemon).
